Firoz has sighned Vinay Shukla as the director for his film and has approached Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone to play the main leads in his film.

Deepika Padukone is all set to play the role of Rani Laxmibai and Akshay will portray the role of Tatya Tope.

Tatya Tope, Nansahed Peshwa, events that happened during Rani Laxmibai’s time and their contributions makes the story of the movie.

Akshay Kumar is yet to confirm his presence and Deepika has already given the green signal to the movie.

Akshay Kumar is back in action, and how. The khiladi has just shot one of his most dangerous action sequences ever for his forthcoming film, Vipul Shah’s Singh is Kinng. The stunt required Akshay to jump from one moving elevator to another at a height of 110 feet. And not only did Akshay refuse to use a body double for this risky stunt, he did it himself without any safety harness. But, he admitted, he did get scared. “I’m even scared of flying and always pray before take-off and landing,” he said.

This coming from a guy who’s known to jump onto running planes and has even stood atop one in midair, before leaping onto a hot air balloon at 1,110 feet. “That was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. These are the kind of stunts that can go horribly wrong. In fact, I’d take my hat off to any actor who tops that one,” he said.

Bipasha – Race

Bipasha Basu loves experimenting with her hair and looks. This time the sultry bong beauty has come up with a stunning short bob in copper and reddish tones. Absolutely chic and classy, her first public appearance with the new hair do was at the MTV Hero Honda Roadies – Race event at Grand Hyatt, Santacruz, in Mumbai which really made heads turn. Accompanying the lady was Chhote Nawab Saif Ali Khan.

When Bips had a two hour session with her hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani, she ended up with a conventional bob. The actress apparently wasn’t satisfied with the look when she brooded over it after going home. So Bipasha was back for another two-hour session with Sapna the next day. This time the actress decided to completely hand over the reins to Sapna. The outcome – a trendy, classic bob – as Sapna describes it.

“Bipasha is one of those few people in Bollywood who love to experiment with their hair”, says Sapna Bhavnani. “Also, what works in her favour is the fact that her hair is luscious, thick and silky. Her attitude for style is unlike most of the other actresses who prefer to play safe with long hair. I am hopeful that Bipasha’s bob will become a rage among fans in the coming season.”

Nagesh Kuknoor

Though much is being talked about Nagesh Kukunoor’s EIGHT BY TEN (earlier titled TASVEER) due to Akshay Kumar factor, not many are aware that the film maker has also wrapped up a film starring John Abraham in the lead. Titled AASHAYEIN, the film is a Percept Picture Company film and also stars Shreyas Talpade, a regular with Kukunoor, in a special appearance.

AASHAYEIN is the story of a compulsive gambler (played by John Abraham) who discovers new meanings of fortune and life through some dramatic turn of events. The film is aiming for a release this summer. This would also be John’s next release after his moderately successful DHAN DHANA DHAN GOAL which came towards the fag end of last year.

Meanwhile John would soon be starting to shoot for Sriram Raghavan’s next film which stars Aishwarya Rai as the female lead.

Abhishek – Idea Cellular Print Ad

After playing the role(s) of a man from amongst the masses in films like JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM and BUNTY AUR BABLI, Abhishek Bachchan has now returned as a tourist guide. He does so for a commercial though instead of a full length feature film.

In a mere 30 second duration which Abhishek gets for himself, he displays a variety of emotions ranging from buffoonery to confused to sentimental to happy-go-lucky to someone who loves his job to understanding and last but not the least being sympathetic.

Truly, one of his best commercials ever!

Katrina

Katrina Kaif is extremely livid about a rumor that reported that she was manhandled by boyfriend Salman Khan and slapped at a public coffee shop in Mumbai.

And Katrina is so upset at the false and baseless rumours making the rounds that Katrina has finally decided to clarify.

Says Katrina’ Enough is enough, I have never talked about my personal life and don’t intend to, and because I have always believed that what is personal is personal. But this is too much. The story that has appeared is utter rubbish and fabricated. I suspect that it’s been spread by vested interest with ulterior motives. I would like to repeat that nothing of this sort has happened. Normally I don’t like to clarify but sometimes one has to take a stand and this is one of those times.

According to sources close to her it is for the first time Katrina Kaif has seriously clarified.

She has always believed in being dignified and keeping her personal life in the private domain. But she seems quite upset when Salman is painted in a bad light and the fact is upsetting her more, and therefore she felt that she had to take a stand and put a lid on the rumour floating around.

Incidentally Katrina on the professional front is on a career high with a 100 percent record last year. Her films NAMASTEY LONDON, APNE, PARTNER and WELCOME were super duper hits. Even her forthcoming film RACE looks very promising and is touted in the industry circle as potential blockbuster at the box office.

Says Katrina ’I am quite pleased with the way my career has shaped up. Even RACE looks extremely slick and has got an international look. It was so special shooting for RACE. I am just looking forward to it.’

Not withstanding the baseless controversies surrounding her personal life, Katrina is quite upbeat with her forthcoming films like RACE, SINGH IS KINGG, MAIN YUVRAJ, two films with Yashraj Films etc…
