Remember how a few months back we broke the news that Katrina Kaif was grooming her younger sister Isabel for stardom?

It seems now that the younger Kaif is all set for the same. Isabel will be launched as heroine opposite Salman Khan in Veer, which is directed by Anil Sharma.

The film will go on the floors in August and will look to be released in the summer of 2009. The film is scripted by Khan himself and it looks like it will be one of the costliest films of recent times.

The much awaited wedding bells might ring this year as Bollywood sensation Salman Khan is expected to tie the knot before the year ends.

According to the buzz the actor will get married to his heart throb Katrina Kaif this year.

Apparently Salman has made a sincere promise to his family especially to his mother Salma and father Salim regarding his marriage.

So are we going to see marriage and Salman together…? Hopefully we won’t be extremely surprised if the actor changes his mind again. While the news might come as a great relief for Salman’s well-wishers, his female admirers might find it a little difficult to take in.

After all he is our very own Sallu Bhai…expect the unexpected..!

Salman - Red Tape Ad.

Kangana has been chosen by a leading international shoes company Red Tape to endorse their brand of footwear. So far the brand was endorsed by Salman Khan.

Says Kangana, "Until now they manufactured footwear only for men. And Salman was their ambassador. The company is launching its female lineup with me. And that’s quite an honour, considering it’s my first endorsement."

What made them choose her? "It was my my casual looks, I guess. The brand isn’t associated with formal shoes. Only sporty footwear, sneakers etc. They want me to endorse their shoes in my jeans and with my curly hair.

Very youth-oriented. And the fact that they expect my career to grow with their new female lineup of shoes makes the endorsement a bigger responsibility for me."

She recently shot spots for hoardings and magazines and will soon be doing a tv ad with Salman Khan for the brand.

Apparently Red Tape has paid Kangana a whopping figure and has promised to enhance the amount by thirty percent in the next financial year. " The shoes and my career are supposed to journey together.

It’s a good thought. I’m excited about the ad with Salman. I’ve always been his fan. I think he’s the only rock star in our cinema.

Salman Khan Writing A Book On Body Building

No doubt Salman is one of the fittest actors in bollywood. He has a well toned body and has always believed in maintaining it. Sallu apparently loves to work out and has given many young rising stars in bollywood tips on working out and developing a fit body.

Salman often gets quizzed by media and fans on how to stay fit and hence he thought it would be a good idea to come out with a book on bodybuilding. According to sources “He wants to write a first person prologue on what got him into body building. In fact, he plans to trace his journey from his skinny days in Maine Pyar Kiya to his toned up body.” Right now Sallu is not sure about what will be the main topics in the book, but he is reading up on fitness books written by well-known authors. Sallu seems to be taking his writing quite seriously, as just recently he completed the script for his film Veer. Salman is also known to dabble in painting and has also received appreciation for it.

London, Jan 15 (IANS) Surrounded by fans, Bollywood actor Salman Khan unveiled his wax figure at Madame Tussauds here Tuesday.

Salman beat nine other Indian mega stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan, to win a place at the world famous waxworks museum after a public poll conducted last summer.

Salman’s statue stands in a special Bollywood section alongside those of three other Mumbai greats - Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan.

The museum hopes the installation of the new statue, reflecting Salman’s popularity in the West, will attract many more South Asian and British Asian visitors.

The heartthrob actor was measured and photographed by expert sculptors in Mumbai last October to kick-start painstaking work on his wax double. He personally chose and donated clothes for the figure to wear.

Salman, who has starred in over 55 films since his 1988 debut film "Biwi Ho To Aisi" made it to the central London attraction after beating off competition from Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Kajol, Lata Mangeshkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.

More than 10,000 people voted in the poll to choose the "Next Bollywood Star" conducted last August.

Ben Lovett of Madame Tussauds said recently: "The Asian market is critical to our attraction and our association with Bollywood, particularly the launch of Shah Rukh Khan, has seen a dramatic increase in the number of Asians, from both the UK and abroad, visiting and enjoying Madame Tussauds. We hope to build upon this exciting relationship with the unveiling of Salman.

Currently Katrina Kaif is in Australia shooting for Vipul Shah’s comedy Singh Is King.Speaking from Australia Katrina says, “I’m here till the middle of December. And I do miss Mumbai. But right now I’ve my mom and sister with me. So that makes it so much better.”For Katrina Kaif it’s been a somewhat different Diwali this year in Australia.

“Vipul had organized some awesome fireworks on the beach. So all of us from the unit, Indian and Australian, were down on the beach for Diwali. Then we went to an Indian restaurant. Luckily nobody played cards. The fact that we did sociable things rather than play cards made this Diwali very special.”Katrina has been entering the laughter zone once too often in her career.Is she getting wary of doing comedies? “I wouldn’t say that. But it’s true that in our comedies the heroines have very little to do except smile vacuously and watch the boys have a good time.However Vipul is very very special to me. I’d be a tree in his film if he wanted to be.

It just so happened that the people who were comfortable working with me initially were dabbling in comedy.My debut Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, then Partner and now Welcome are all comedies. The territory is getting a bit too familiar with me. Initially it was important for me to get those commercial hits to my credit. Now that it’s happened I’m consciously doing other kinds of films.”One non-comedy role that Katrina is currently shooting is Subhash Ghai’s Main Yuvraaj.“And I get to play the cello in Subhashji’s film. The thing with the cello is, you can’t completely learn to play it all at once, like the piano or the sitar. It’s an instrument that takes years to master.”Katrina sat with an orchestra player in Bombay to get the body posture of the cello player right. “Luckily for me Subhashji’s films have an ongoing theme piece running through the music soundtrack.

That’s the one which I’ve familiarized myself with on the cello. I learnt the chords for that piece like a piece of choreography. When people see me doing that piece they wouldn’t find me faking it.We were shooting in a castle in Austria with a German orchestra conductor guiding my movements. When I got it right I ran screaming to Salman, Arjun and everyone on the sets. Subhashji had to calm me down. ‘Theek hai, beta. Now the next shot.’She describes Singh Is King as a complete comedy. “It’ll be my funniest comedy so far, and for a change not slapstick. I’ve been doing quite a lot of comedies. This is my second comedy in a row with director Anees Bazmi after Welcome, and that too with Akshay Kumar again.”She admits Akshay’s comic timing has been a learning experience.

“You do learn from everyone you work with. He’s the master of his genre. He knows what works best for him. And that for any actor is a big USP.”
